MNC Land‘s theme park project is taking shape in Indonesia, with MNC Park set to debut as early as 2024.

MNC Land’s theme park and smart city project is underway near Jakarta in Indonesia, with MNC Park set to launch as early as 2024.

MNC Park will be one of the largest theme parks in Southeast Asia. It is part of MNC Lido City, a smart city covering 3,000 hectares in Lido, Greater Jakarta.

MNC Land hopes to attract international IT companies in order to create a technology hub within MNC Lido City, located approximately 60km from Jakarta.

MNC Lido City will include MNC World Lido, a resort featuring MNC Park, Indonesia’s first international standard theme park.

MNC World Lido will also feature retail, dining, entertainment and hotels, as well as a golf course and the Movieland film studio.

Additional offerings at MNC Lido City include the Lido Music & Arts Center, Lido World Garden, and Lido Adventure Park.

The theme park is expected to be similar to Disneyland and Universal Studios, and is scheduled to open in 2024 at the earliest, Nikkei Asia reports. MNC Land has already secured a plot of 2,000 hectares for the project’s first phase.

MNC Park is the centrepiece of the development. Covering 47 hectares, it will merge cutting-edge technology with storytelling to offer a magical experience across various themed lands. There will be rides, shows and attractions.

MNC Land will use its own intellectual property (IP) for the attraction, instead of signing licensing agreements with Disney or Universal. The company owns four TV stations and will use characters from its popular cartoons for the park.

The first phase of construction, which includes the golf course, hotel and MNC Park, is scheduled for completion in 2027. The total investment is estimated at $2 billion.

MNC Land hopes to attract 10 million domestic and overseas visitors annually.
