Polin Aquariums, a leader in international aquarium installation, has announced its latest project which is now open to guests in Uzbekistan.
The new Magic Aquarium opened on 20 March 2022 as the first full-scale public aquarium in the country to be overseen by Polin Aquariums with its turnkey specialist services.
Themed environments
Based on the lost city of Atlantis, the underwater living museum features a wide selection of marine exhibits as a key component of the Magic City Theme Park. The oceanarium houses creatures in approximately 1,300,000 litres of water over a space of more than 2,700 square metres.
The aquarium features fifty exhibits, with themed zones including Uzbekistan History, a Touch & Discover zone, Atlantic Cave, Pier, Shipwreck and a Shark Hall. As a cornerstone of the attraction, a 22-metre long underwater tunnel the unusual underwater allows visitors to get closer to the aquatic wildlife on display.
Multi-faceted project
Polin Aquariums supervised the project, beginning with the conceptual design and storyline of the aquarium’s construction. Its engineering team supervised the construction of aquarium bodies, with the firm’s in-house teams applying waterproofing systems and installing acrylic panels.
Polin Aquariums also manufactured, installed, and commissioned essential life support systems used in conjunction with pre-fabricated aquariums it installed.
The firm also conceived all theming elements (underwater and guest-side) with its team of theming creatives.

A Polin representative says “With the best efforts of AKFA Group and Polin Aquariums during the pandemic period, construction didn’t stop and the aquarium is successfully finished. Now, Magic Aquarium is ready for an unforgettable magical experience and memories.”
Polin Group recently appointed its new Business Development Manager, Matteo Ferrarini, who is working closely with clients and prospects in Western Europe.
