Interlink, a leading water ride designer and manufacturer, has opened its latest attraction at a major new family-run theme park in Iowa, US.
One of the park highlights, Awaati Water Battle is a Water Battle Attraction supplied by Interlink. A Super Flume ride named Yuta Falls is set to open for guests in the coming months.
Awaati – which translates to Otter in Tamariki (the park’s mythical guardian language) has been carefully incorporated into the Water Battle boat design in the form of otter illustrations, alongside carved Polynesian boat theming with wave patterns.
The interactive water battle attraction has been supplied with seven boats, each seating eight riders in a back-to-back configuration. Riders can use the incorporated water cannons to splash other boats and guests on the shore as they gradually make their way around the water course.Â
Elemental lands
The Lost Island Theme Park is divided into five unique realms, each with a representative symbol. Mura, Yuta, Udara, Awa and Tamariki, represent the elements of Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Spirit respectively. Interlink’s Awaati Water Battle is located in the Awa (Water Realm) section of the park and Yuta Falls will be found in Yuta (Earth Realm).
Since it was founded in 1982 by John Hudd, Interlink has been involved in a large number of international projects and continues to be a leading supplier of theme and amusement parks.
Lost Island Theme Park opened to the public on Saturday 18 June 2022, accompanying the existing Lost Island Waterpark.
Interlink is currently making preparations for a series of trade events including a major leisure show next week: “We are gearing up for Expo season, and can’t wait to catch up with clients, industry friends and partners at IAAPA Expo Europe, this year in London,” says the firm.
Interlink will be exhibiting at booth #3321 in ExCeL London from 13-15 September 2022.
