Otherworld, an immersive art experience in Columbus, Ohio, is expanding to Philadelphia. The new location will open later this year with art installations and mixed reality (MR) playgrounds.
The 40,000-square-foot attraction will have more than 55 unique rooms and installations. Guests are encouraged to “roam and interact at their own pace”, according to a press release.
Each room is unique, with guests experiencing “iridescent creatures and primordial monsters, crawlable tubes and infinite expanses of light, and alluring art with depth and a captivating narrative”.
“Our original Ohio location has become a destination in itself, and we’re thrilled at the opportunity to bring Otherworld to Philly,” said Otherworld founder Jordan Renda.

“We’re excited to continue doing what we love and keep creating immersive stuff that everyone can enjoy, but on a much larger scale with ramped up production value this time around.”
The immersive attraction uses cutting-edge technology – from holograms and holodecks to motion capture and camera tracking – to create interactive visual effects.
Otherworld has partnered with Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, which produces live events and location-based entertainment (LBE) experiences, for its Philadelphia location.

Otherworld is put together by more than 100 artists, animators, creative technologists and fabricators. The first venue in Columbus opened in 2019. The attraction allows visitors to explore and interact with a “surreal worlds of science fiction and fantasy”.
Elsewhere, Georgia O’Keeffe’s artworks have come to life at AREA15, and a new immersive art experience called Dalí Alive is opening in Colorado. Meow Wolf is also launching two new permanent exhibitions in Texas.
