IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, has thanked companies and individuals which support the activities of the IAAPA Foundation.
As part of efforts to ensure the future development and growth of young professionals within the international attractions sector, scholarships for students are offered through the IAAPA Foundation, sponsored by a spectrum of industry leaders.
Currently, seven companies and individuals have shown support in IAAPA Foundation’s global Sponsor a Scholarship program, including Bob Rippy/Jungle Rapids, Liseberg Park, Premier Rides, Ripley’s Entertainment Company, Tom Mehrmann/Themed Advisors, WhiteWater Industries and Whiting’s Foods.
Providing both academic and experiential scholarships to students who need financial assistance, the IAAPA Foundation assists those who are focused on a career in the attractions industry, awarding approximately $50,000 in scholarships annually.
A worthwhile effort
As the most extensive international trade association for attractions, IAAPA unites the attractions community by connecting professionals to learn and grow together, striving to promote high professional standards for excellence and safety globally.
Founded in 1918, the organisation’s members include professionals from amusement parks, water parks, FECs zoos, aquariums, manufacturers, and suppliers.
During the recent IAAPA Expo Europe held in London, the chairman of the IAAPA Foundation, Jim Seay, updated the IAAPA Board on the growing support from sponsors.
“This new program provides a simple way for individuals and industry companies to support and connect with students who are seeking pathways into our industry but need a helping hand,” said Seay, also president of Premier Rides. “I am grateful to those who have already stepped forward to help with this worthwhile effort. We hope to announce many more scholarship supporters during the IAAPA Expo in Orlando.”
