The US event is a key networking and purchasing opportunity in the amusement industry calendar

IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, has begun to see visitors sign up for one of the industry’s largest events, as registration officially opens for IAAPA Expo 2022.

With the event opening in less than five months, IAAPA anticipates it will attract over 25,000 industry professionals this year. Almost 1,000 exhibitors will be at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, with the educational conference beginning on 14 November, and the trade show floor opening the following day.

In addition to education sessions, other opportunities are available for an additional fee over the course of the Expo, including EDUTours, networking events, and in-depth learning opportunities.

An exciting time

As the premier show for the attractions industry, IAAPA Expo connects general managers, owners, and CEOs of amusement parks, zoos, aquariums, and water parks with vast numbers of industry experts, manufacturers and service providers each year.

IAAPA chief executive officer and president Hal McEvoy says: “It is an exciting time in the attractions industry as we continue on the path of recovery from the pandemic, and our members are looking for new innovative products and services from our manufacturers and suppliers to enhance their guests’ experiences.

“IAAPA Expo in Orlando continues to be the premier showplace for the latest innovations to create fun and make memories for our industry. This is also an important event for connecting, sharing best practices, hearing from the industry’s top leaders and experts, and working on your professional development needs.”

2022 IAAPA Chairman of the Board, Ken Whiting adds: “IAAPA’s Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome members and not-yet-members back to Orlando for our world-renowned Expo event.

“The IAAPA team is hard at work setting a conference program that’s both engaging and educational with a focus on hot topics that are pressing within the industry.”

Roster of top speakers

Attendees can expect to hear about the latest trends and insights from some of the industry’s top professionals, on topics including customer service, creative theming, and innovation.

This year’s Leadership Breakfast for general managers and owners will be hosted by Universal Parks and Resorts Pacific Rim president and COO Tom Mehrmann, a previous winner of the blooloop 50 influencer list.

A Lunch and Learn session will feature Herschend Family Entertainment CEO Andrew Wexler, with a Game Changer being led by ‘the sublime prince of the esoteric order of the cookie’ from Gideon’s Bakehouse, Steven Lewis.

IAAPA Expo 2022 takes place from 14-18 November. Registration is now open online.

The association has also announced its hopes for the return of the in-person IAAPA Expo Asia next year, following the success of this year’s virtual conference.
