IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, has provided an event update for the Asia-Pacific region.
Over two hundred attractions industry professionals attended IAAPA Expo Asia Virtual Conference 2022, led by leaders, experts, and legends of the sector. The conference, sponsored by dutch roller coaster specialist Vekoma Rides, took place on 21 and 22 June following the cancellation of IAAPA Expo Asia 2022 as a result of COVID-19 concerns in Hong Kong.
Highlights of the virtual conference included presentations about reshaping the global attractions industry, guest experience changes, connections with visitors, and talent acquisition and retention. Industry leaders from around the world were in attendance as anticipation began for the return of in-person events within the region.
Back to normality
Following a successful virtual conference, organisers are turning their attention to planning next year’s IAAPA Expo Asia in Singapore.
Following three years of cancelled Asia-Pacific (APAC) region expos, IAAPA Expo Asia is scheduled to return 13-16 June 2023. The in-person education conference and trade show will take place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, an iconic structure renowned for its elongated rooftop pool.
“Anyone interested in exhibiting in the long-awaited return of this global event can take advantage of a special Early Bird rate for a discount of up to 40%,” notes IAAPA, with exhibitors having until 20 July 2022 to submit their booth contract and secure the saving.
As a premier international industry event for the APAC region, IAAPA Expo Asia 2023 will feature engaging education sessions led by industry experts, unique networking opportunities, leading technologies and the industry’s latest products.
Over to Thailand
With the APAC region having long waited for the return of the association’s Expo, another post-pandemic in-person offering will take place later this year. The IAAPA APAC Trade Summit will offer learning and networking opportunities when it is held on 17 and 18 October in Bangkok, Thailand.
“The trade summit will be a valuable opportunity for attraction operators to hear from industry leaders, learn about timely topics, reconnect with industry peers, meet with leading suppliers, and leave with inspiration to move their business forward,” adds IAAPA.
Last month, the IAAPA EMEA Spring Summit took place at Cinecittà World, MagicLand and Zoomarine in Italy, featuring a selection of keynote presentations and networking opportunities.
