Efteling, the fairytale theme park in the Netherlands, has announced an opening date for its new Raveleijn themed area.

From 1 December, guests will get to experience the renovated Raveleijn area, watch the new Raveleijn: Battle for the City stunt show, and enjoy the new Ravenring attraction.

Additionally, the revamped themed area will include updated F&B facilities and a new souvenir shop.

Efteling has invested a total of €20 million in the new Raveleijn themed area – €10m in the show, €5m in the area's renovation, and €5m in the new Ravenring attraction.

Starting with the new show, Efteling's director of product, marketing and image, Koen Sanders, said the sets have been "extensively revamped".

Raveleijn: Battle for the City, he added, is "packed with spectacular stunts, created in collaboration with the French theme park Puy du Fou".

As for the new Ravenring attraction, riders will soar through the air in one of 18 winged vehicles inspired by ravens, using levers to tilt themselves.

Efteling said Ravenring "is a completely new attraction" developed by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist.

The Raveleijn area's revamped F&B offering is called De Verslaeghen Draek Inn, and the new shop is named In den Ravenkorf.

Earlier this summer, Efteling announced plans for its newest thrill ride – a suspended launch coaster called Missie Luminar set to open in 2029.

The park later shared a first look at its 32nd fairytale – 'The Fairytale Library'.
