The Efteling theme park in the Netherlands is opening its new Ravenring attraction this winter.

Efteling, the fairytale theme park in the Netherlands, has revealed the name and design of its new Raveleijn attraction.

Last year, Efteling announced plans for a new themed area and attraction around its Raveleijn show, which is also being completely renewed.

The attraction is named Ravenring and will open this winter. It is being built just outside the city walls of Raveleijn.

Guests on Ravenring will soar through the air in one of 18 winged vehicles inspired by ravens, using levers to tilt themselves.

The ride accommodates 36 visitors at a time and has a minimum height requirement of one metre.

As for the Raveleijn show, this is being renewed to offer a new storyline and special effects, in collaboration with French theme park operator Puy du Fou.

Ravenring to open this winter

"In line with our vision of full immersion, we are looking at the entire area surrounding the park show in this development. The story of Raveleijn lends itself perfectly to this," Koen Sanders, director of product, market and image at Efteling, said last year.

"By placing the new attraction outside the open-air arena, we are enlarging the themed area," he added.

"The park show will undergo a complete transformation, meaning that it will be performed more often than ever before: several times a day and almost year-round."

The new show will also open this winter, with more details to be announced later this year.

Earlier this month, Efteling launched its new family-friendly drop tower attraction, named Hooghmoed. This came after the opening of the park's new 'Magicaluna' illusion show.
