Electrosonic, an international technology services firm, recently provided insight into how technology has been used to create immersive experiences at three popular visitor attractions including a major European theme park, a unique Location-Based Experience, and an urban observation deck venue.
The Hyper-stimulating the Guest Experience with Immersive Technology Innovation Session, hosted by blooloop, featured two long-standing Electrosonic executives.
Yiannis Cabolis is the firm’s director of technology innovation with more than 30 years of industry experience working across a spectrum of location-based entertainment projects, ranging from dark rides to museums.
Cabolis helps Electrosonic to keep its finger on the pulse of the latest developing technologies and how they can best be applied to projects.
Unleashing the power

He was joined by Maurizio Capuzzo, Electrosonic’s chief marketing officer with more than two decades of experience managing all aspects of B2B marketing. As a seasoned communicator, Capuzzo has led leadership roles in a variety of market-leading global technology companies.
“Since Electrosonic’s inception in 1964, our vision has been to push the boundaries of technologies to unleash the power of human experience,” began Capuzzo.
“We have delivered over 18,000 projects, designing, building and supporting innovative technology solutions, that create lasting experiences where people live, work and play. So today, we hope to share some of those insights, knowledge and opportunities for destination experiences.”
Discover the 3Ps
A core part of the session saw Electrosonic let attendees in on the importance of the 3Ps – personalisation, polysensory and platform – in creating a truly immersive experience, the importance of which has increased in recent years thanks to improvements in technology and changes in audience demand.
“In the last decade, we have been experiencing an evolution not only on the types of hardware and software technologies but an overall evolution to the way we experience our world and our expectations, which in turn drives the tools utilised in storytelling.”
Electrosonic not only provided valuable immersive design theory but also examples of how this works in real-life projects globally. Cabolis and Capuzzo guided attendees through the development of projects including the Snorri Touren family dark ride at Europa Park, Germany, ILUMINARIUM in Atlanta, US and The Summit at One Vanderbilt, found in Manhatten, US.
