Immersive Gamebox to open gaming venues in UAE, Ireland and Germany

Immersive Gamebox currently has 14 locations across Europe and the US.

UK-based gaming company Immersive Gamebox (IGB) has signed $90 million in franchise deals to expand globally over the next three years.

Formerly known as Electric Gamebox, Immersive Gamebox is planning locations in the UAE, Ireland and Germany, as well as Australia and Canada (via Tech.eu).

The company has signed with Majid Al Futtaim Leisure for new venues in the UAE, Imgair Ireland Ltd for locations in Ireland, and 3 F Entertainment for attractions in Germany.

Immersive Gamebox currently has 14 locations across Europe and the US. The company was co-founded by CEO Will Dean and CFO David Spindler, who also founded Tough Mudder and Tough Mudder Bootcamp.

“We are delighted to sign franchise deals with such strong partners as part of the rapid expansion of Immersive Gamebox,” said Dean.

“Our company purpose is to bring people together through technology-enabled shared play, and our franchise partners are playing a key role in taking Immersive Gamebox global.”

Immersive Gamebox offers gaming experiences in interactive smart rooms. These ‘gaming pods’ use cutting-edge technology such as projection mapping, touchscreens, surround sound and 3D motion tracking.

“I am really excited to be joining IGB as it gains significant momentum in growth,” said Lisa Paton, the new COO of Immersive Gamebox.

“With my experience of growing brands internationally, I will be helping establish IGB across various markets, as well as working with franchise partners to ensure they align with our core values and high-quality service,” she added.

An official experience inspired by Netflix’s Squid Game recently launched at several Immersive Gamebox venues in the US and UK.

Immersive Gamebox has previously developed games based on intellectual property (IP) such as the Angry Birds franchise and Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep.

Immersive Gamebox first launched in London in 2019.
