Powersoft ready to make IAAPA Expo debut

Powersoft Mover product

The technology firm transforms visitor attractions into immersive experiences

Powersoft, the Italian amplifier specialist, has confirmed its first-time attendance at IAAPA Expo, the most comprehensive trade show for the attractions industry.

The Powersoft team will be showcasing its latest technology at booth #465 including Mover, a low-frequency direct drive/tactile transducer that uses bone conduction to simulate the body’s capacity to perceive low-end frequencies.

Mover is a precise, strong, and effective solution which adds another dimension to visitor attractions through vibration, such as theme park rides, exhibitions, science centres, and other immersive experiences. It can be used in moving floors, seats, and rides to transfer audible and inaudible frequencies to the human body.

Key account and business development consultant for Powersoft, Marc Kocks believes that Mover is an essential technology component for modern attraction businesses: “Mover allows for an unprecedented and immersive user experience. It can give the audience the sensation of falling, elevation or being shaken as part of an attraction.”

Real-world implementation

At the Illuminarium locations in Atlanta and Las Vegas, where the multi-award-nominated 162-Mover installation is enabling thousands of visitors to feel the earth-shaking tremor of an elephant’s stomp or the low-end rumble of a space rocket launch, this technology is already being used to its fullest potential.

A crucial aspect of the Illuminarium experience, especially when synchronised with audio, is Mover’s capacity to deliver localised haptic input throughout designated zones in addition to producing highly precise reproduction in the low-frequency spectrum.

Mover is also at the centre of the renowned Our House nightclub and museum in Amsterdam, where an infrasound haptic floor system allows patrons to ‘feel’ the music playing around them.

World of possibilities

Kocks adds: “As a first-time exhibitor at IAAPA Orlando, we want to reach out to all stakeholders in the themed attractions market and raise awareness of Powersoft’s unique technologies and solutions. As the only way to ‘feel’ AV, Mover opens up a whole world of possibilities for attractions to grow their footfall and revenue with entirely new experiences for their audiences.

Mover IAAPA Expo 2022

“IAAPA Expo is the perfect opportunity to experience the kind of groundbreaking effects that can only be created with our Mover products. We invite visitors to come and experience it firsthand – feeling is believing!”
