Semnox Solutions helps Extravaganza Arcade go cashless

The North American gaming venue has implemented state-of-the-art payment tech

Semnox Solutions, a provider of technology for the entertainment and amusement industry, has helped an arcade transition from a coin-operated game room to a state-of-the-art arcade featuring the latest technology.

Extravaganza Arcade, located in Greenville Mall, North Carolina, US, is now using Semnox’s Parafait suite of technologies to assist in better managing and automating important processes while providing a better user experience for its guests.

Removing stress from systems

Until recently, McKeith Myrick, Extravaganza’s owner and operator, ran the arcade in a traditional way with coin-op and ticket redemption games. Its overall operation and customer experience have improved since investing in a new Semnox’s Parafait POS system and redemption management, tap-to-play LUMIN and EDGE RFID readers, and Parafait’s KLASSIC self-service Kiosk.

“During busy days when you have coin and ticket jams, it just made things stressful,” says Myrick. “Having a card system eliminates that and also makes the customer have a better experience overall.”

“The POS system is very user-friendly. The reader design is nice and colourful, and I loved the fact they were already using RFID technology which saves on the magstripe being worn out by the other companies’ readers. The other important factor, which was a major part of my decision, was the customer service from the Semnox sales representatives and the support team – it’s outstanding.”   

Taking pride

Because the Parafait self-service kiosk and RFID readers are simple to use, offer up-selling options, and decrease lineups at the ticket desk, Extravaganza’s customer service has improved. Customers may also purchase RFID arcade cards from the self-service kiosk, check account balances and recharge accounts, with optimum efficiency and minimal intervention from personnel.

“Customers love the system and how easy it is to use the kiosk. Plus, they are spending more money than they did before with less complaints, too, since there are no more coin or ticket jams,” adds Myrick. “Labour is down, managing redemption inventory is a breeze and [Semnox’s Parafait technology solutions] was everything I expected and was looking for.” 

Semnox has also been celebrating winning an IAAPA Brass Ring Award at IAAPA Expo last month in Orlando, Florida, US.
