The firm gains a wealth of experience with its latest recruit

BOP Consulting, the research and consulting practice for the culture and the creative economies, has announced its latest high-level appointment.

David Hingley joins BOP from Tate where he oversaw the Visitor Experience teams at all of their locations in London, improving visitor engagement by implementing a strategy that placed organisational principles and a distinct vision at the centre of each visitor interaction. David’s heritage knowledge was expanded during his time as chief operational officer at The Landmark Trust, where he oversaw 200 historic properties throughout the UK, before joining Tate

A global research and consulting firm with a focus on culture and the creative economy, BOP Consulting has a wide range of clients in the arts, tourism, and culture sectors, as well as governmental entities, real estate investors, and foreign agencies. As a senior consultant, Hingley will contribute to expanding the strategic client base.

Hingley says: “I am delighted to be joining BOP at such an exciting time, and looking forward to working with new and existing clients, to support them in delivering brilliant experiences that translate their creative vision into reality.

Hingley introduced his business acumen to the cultural sector as chief of operations at Hampton Court Palace after a prosperous career in retail that culminated in senior management positions with Marks and Spencer. He has overseen the execution of significant events, such as the 2014 installation of “Poppies” at the Tower of London and the staging of London’s Olympic Cycling Time Trial in 2012.

During his tenure at Hampton, Hingley oversaw several key change management initiatives in addition to developing a reputation for producing high-profile events at scale. He also serves as a trustee for both the Museum of the Broads and the Painshill Park Trust.

BOP associate director Rachel Kuhn adds: “David is a fantastic addition to our team. He brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and a true passion for heritage and cultural venues that we know will benefit both our clients and our colleagues here at BOP.”

Kuhn represented the industry as a judge of the blooloop Innovation Awards 2022, where the industry’s leading products and services are celebrated each year.
