Simtec Systems expands factory at German headquarters

Simtec expands manufactory

Facilites in Braunschweig grow in response to new major project

Simtec Systems, a leader in motion simulation, has announced the expansion of the Simtec Manufactory at its headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany. This follows a major order from the USA, received in the summer of 2021, details of which are currently under wraps.

“The globally active premium customer from Orlando cannot be named yet, nor can details about the project,” explains the firm. “But we can say that it is a project from the entertainment sector that should make many fans happy.”

To meet the demands of this major project, the company has begun work to expand its facilities at the Braunschweig research airport.

New project triggers growth of manufacturing facilities

The factory opened in 2018, in the north of Simtec’s site. The 5,500-square-metre hall was built as an assembly and test hall to meet all customer requirements and also to enable to firm to build and test larger systems.

Now, the firm has added a large loading and unloading area for trucks, allowing for easier access to the hall. Construction work has also started inside the hall in order to be able to meet all the customer’s assembly and testing requirements. In addition, a second warehouse of around 800 square metres is being constructed in the northeast of the site, to minimise distances to the factory.

This major order has created additional interesting jobs at Simtec’s headquarters in Braunschweig, and the company is now looking to recruit new employees from across various fields.

At Braunschweig Research Airport, Simtec develops, builds and installs professional flight- and driving simulators and operates a pilot training centre for the Dornier 228. As a leading manufacturer of flying theatres with more than 20 installations worldwide, Simtec delivers high-quality entertainment attractions and motion-based simulator rides with open and closed cabins as well as interactive dark rides.

Last year, Simtec Systems was honoured at the Golden Crown Awards in the category of Outstanding Motion/Flying Theaters Supplier (International) for Flying over Chongqing, its HEXaFLITE72 Flying Theater in Chongqing Sunac Land, China. It was also named Outstanding Family Ride Supplier (International) for its three FUNRIDE21 Open Cabin Simulators in OCT Chongqing Happy Valley.
