Great Wolf Lodge has announced an opening date for its new water park resort in South Florida after holding a topping-out ceremony.

The new Great Wolf Lodge will start accepting reservations for 1 October 2024, but it hopes to be able to open earlier than that.

Suffolk, the construction contractor, will now focus on completing the resort’s interior, including the 90,000-square-foot indoor water park, 60,000-square-foot adventure park, and 500 guest suites.

“Today marks a significant milestone in the construction of Great Wolf Lodge South Florida, as we start focusing on the interior portions of the resort and all the amazing family experiences we will offer,” said John Murphy, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts.

“Topping off this resort is a milestone that symbolizes the hard work by the skilled men and women involved in the construction phase,” added Ben Wilson, chief operating officer for Suffolk.

At the $250 million resort in Collier County, the indoor water park will offer waterslides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas.

The family entertainment centre (FEC), known as the Great Wolf Adventure Park, will house various family-friendly attractions such as MagiQuest, Great Wolf’s exclusive game where players use interactive magic wands to battle goblins and dragons.

The hotel’s suites have sleeping quarters for children designed as either a log cabin or wolf den, as well as character theming. The property also features nearly 8,000 square feet of conference space.

“We are excited about the positive impact this resort will have on the community and grateful for the partnership, and we look forward to a safe and smooth construction completion and delivery of the Great Wolf Lodge South Florida,” added Wilson.

Earlier this year, Great Wolf started building a $300m water park resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut.Ā The group is also constructing a new location inĀ Webster, Texas.
