The kingdom’s Bear Grylls Survival Academy will offer a variety of courses

Red Sea Global has teamed up with British adventurer and TV presenter Bear Grylls to bring his adventure and survival brand to Saudi Arabia.

The kingdom’s Bear Grylls Survival Academy (BGSA) will offer survival skills, wilderness education and expedition leadership on a variety of courses, all designed by Grylls.

Red Sea Global, the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala, will serve as the exclusive agent for the Bear Grylls Survival Academy across the kingdom.

Bear Grylls is known the world over for his exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping adventures in nature’s most challenging environments,” said John Pagano, group CEO of Red Sea Global.

“Yet, always at the heart of these exploits is the central message that nature plays a profound role in shaping us as people – instilling strength, resilience, self-belief and teamwork.

“We believe that everyone should have the chance to follow their sense of adventure and will work with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy team to develop outdoor experiences for all, whether adults or young people, and irrespective of physical and cognitive ability.”

Potentially, the Bear Grylls Survival Academy will collaborate with Red Sea Global’s adventure sports brand Akun.

Outdoor experiences in the kingdom

“From its steep mountains to its deep wadi valleys, across sand dunes, canyons and coastlines, The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia has some of the most diverse natural environments we’ve ever seen,” said Paul Gardiner, managing director of the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

“We look forward to developing a series of BGSA’s signature challenges and assets that allow people to test and ultimately overcome their own limits and expectations,” he added.

The Red Sea is on track to open the first phase of its international airport and its first hotels this year. Amaala is currently due to open in early 2025.
