The Eden Project has launched this year’s Nature Connections initiative, a series of free group activities to connect people with nature and each other.
Per a press release from Eden, spending time in green spaces has been proven to have a positive impact, with people reporting decreased stress levels, and boosted creativity and productivity.
Eden’s group activities are designed to improve participants’ health and wellbeing. Additionally, guests will get to meet other people and see how Eden grows and changes during the winter months.
The nature-based activities, workshops and courses are created for all ages, from babies and toddlers to adults and older people.

Among the new offerings for this year is Creating Connections, a programme of activities for young people aged under 25. This includes a new nature-based photography course, which is launching on 27 January.
Also new for 2024 are Wonder Workshops for adults, which take place on select Fridays from 26 January. Participants will learn more about the wonders of nature and enjoy creative activities.
Returning for this year’s Nature Connections are activities for young visitors. These include Music in the Med (from 25 January), Yoga Buds (from 26 January), and Little Eden (from 20 February).
Sam Alford, Eden’s head of Nature Connections, said: “We know that a visit to a green space can be beneficial to our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly during this time of the year.
“Having our biomes to provide a nature-filled, biodiverse and undercover space, alongside our beautiful outdoor gardens and vast outer estate, allows us to run varied activities with something for everyone.
Nature-based activities for all ages
“As Nature Connections continues to build as an initiative, we’ll have news on more activities and courses in the near future.”
Eden has been offering activities to support the health of the local community since 2005. Since 2016, it has been working closely with local GPs and health practitioners through social prescribing.
Other activities in the Nature Connections initiative include a weekly walking group, horticultural therapy programmes, and weekly park runs.
Additionally, Eden is hosting the Reclaim wellness weekend on 27 and 28 January. This event is to support mental health and planetary wellbeing.
