Dorney Park in Pennsylvania has announced an opening date for its new Iron Menace coaster, and is promoting it with a new Iron Menace-themed beer.
Per a press release, Iron Menace will be the Northeast’s first-ever dive roller coaster when it opens to the public on 10 May.
Ahead of that, the theme park is holding pre-season preview days for Iron Menace on 27 and 27 April, and on 4 and 5 May.
“We are thrilled to open Iron Menace to the public early and offer these pre-season preview days,” said Jessica Naderman, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom’s vice president and general manager.

“We know that the extra two weekends will help our guests fall in love faster with a breathtaking roller coaster that is unlike anything in our region.”
Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Iron Menace boasts a 95-degree, 160-foot drop and four inversions, as well as a top speed of 64 mph.
As for the new beer, this is the result of a partnership between Dorney Park owner Cedar Fair and Illumination Brewing, which owns the Funk Brewing brand.
From around mid-April, guests over the age of 21 can enjoy the Iron Menace lager at Dorney Park, and can purchase it at select local retail outlets.

“Funk is amazing. This beer is incredible, and we’re just excited to share it with everyone as we forge our own fate this summer,” said Ryan Eldredge, public relations and communications manager at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.
Chris White, owner and CEO of Illumination Brewing, said: “We are so excited to be working with Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom to bring this great American lager and some of our other incredible adult beverage options to the park this summer.
“I know everyone in the park is going to enjoy being able to beat the heat with some craft brews this summer.”
