THG, a creative agency specialising in developing attractions for theme parks, museums and brands, has announced that Rani Bal has been promoted to vice president of people.
Bal has over 20 years of experience across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, retail, and themed entertainment, the latter including key positions at Kings Dominion. She most recently worked with Thinkwell as vice president of people, and as a consultant supporting studios in the US and worldwide with talent acquisition and HR.
Developing talent
Bal will lead all aspects of human resources in her new position, including organisational development, talent acquisition, workforce planning, policy implementation, and employee relations support. In addition, she oversees THG’s efforts to find and retain top talent as well as nurture and develop emerging talent, fostering an atmosphere in which generations of themed entertainment professionals may share knowledge and serve as mentors to one another.
She recently oversaw the opening of THG Creative’s new Orlando office, which provided a fresh environment in which the THG team can imagine and design.
Phil Hettema, chief executive officer and partner, THG Creative, says: “As our company continues to evolve, I am delighted that Rani Bal has been promoted to VP, people. With a warm spirit and a deep understanding of what makes our team tick, she embodies the heart of our organization.
“For years, she has been a trusted advisor and confidante, providing invaluable insights that have shaped our organization’s growth. Her unwavering commitment to our company’s mission and values has been evident in every interaction, making her an integral part of our success story. Rani has a genuine passion for empowering every individual within our company. I am beyond excited to celebrate Rani’s promotion.”
Erik Neergaard, chief creative officer and partner, THG Creative, adds: “I am so thrilled to announce Rani Bal’s promotion to VP of people. Rani has made an undeniable impact in the themed entertainment industry, fostering and growing talent for decades. This new role is a testament to Rani’s commitment to the success and well-being of the THG team.”
THG Creative’s growing, talented senior management team is propelling the organisation forward. Bal’s new role will support THG’s current team, enable the acquisition of new talent, and enhance the company’s culture on both the East and West Coasts of the US.
Last month, THG announced the opening of its new office location in Orlando, Florida. Located in Southpark Circle, the recently established office is close to some of Orlando’s most engaging and thrilling attractions and will allow THG’s workforce to grow and flourish in an East Coast themed entertainment hub.
