The Lume Melbourne DaVinci

Leonardo da Vinci—500 Years of Genius and Dalí Alive are now open

Grande Experiences, a leading global arts and culture immersive experience company, has announced the opening of two new experiences at its flagship venue, THE LUME Melbourne and THE LUME Indianapolis (a partnership with the Museum of Fine Art Newfields).

Visitors to THE LUME Melbourne can now enjoy Leonardo da Vinci—500 Years of Genius, which includes the original pages of Leonardo da Vinci’s notebook, the Codex Atlanticus. Meanwhile, THE LUME Indianapolis recently opened Grande’s Dalí Alive, created in partnership with The Dalí Museum in the US. This fascinating and mind-bending exhibition explores the life and works of surrealist icon Salvador Dalí.

The Lume: Dalí

Like Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius, visitors to Dalí Alive will have a rare opportunity to see original artefacts – four watercolours by Dalí from the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s own collection.

This new experience offers something for all ages. As well as the original Codex Atlanticus pages it also includes to-scale machine inventions brought to life by Italian artisans from the pages of his notebooks, the only exact 360º replica of the Mona Lisa in the world, a brand new immersive experience in the enormous 3000 sqm multisensory gallery, cutting-edge AI and VR interactive technologies, a Renaissance-themed culinary experience in Caffè Medici, and more.

Bruce Peterson, founder of THE LUME Melbourne, says:

“The story of this polymath is extraordinary when one pauses to reflect. Leonardo, arguably the greatest creative genius the world has ever known, astonishes us with the vastness of his curiosity and expertise – from artist and scientist to engineer, sculptor, musician, event producer, geologist, botanist – and beyond.”

Dalí Alive

Co-created and produced by Grande Experiences and The Dalí Museum in St Petersburg, Florida, Dalí Alive is an immersive, multi-sensory experience. It includes key pieces from the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s permanent collection, including four original pieces by Dalí.

The experience inspires visitors to examine Dalí’s life, art, and achievements as they explore his larger-than-life personality, innovative ideas, and surrealist art on a massive scale. Dalí Alive examines the artist’s constant self-reinvention, tracing his life and art through his early years in Spain, his introduction to Surrealist circles, his influential time in America, and his global cultural impact.

Lume Dali: VIP Night

Steve Smith, CEO of Grande Experiences, says:

“Visitors will enjoy the unique opportunity to dive deep into the imaginative world of Salvador Dalí and submerge themselves in his beautiful, iconic, and captivating art as we bring it to life. In my opinion, if Salvador Dalí were alive today, he would be creating in this exciting format.”

The firm is a global leader in creating, designing, producing, promoting, and installing large-scale exhibitions and immersive experiences with broad cultural appeal and engaging, amusing, and instructive content. Its experiences have been displayed 250 times in over 180 cities, 33 languages, and 6 continents, enthralling audiences of over 23 million people.

LUME Dali: Community Day

In addition to these touring experiences, Grande Experiences owns THE LUME, permanent but versatile digital gallery spaces that host spectacular experiences, in addition to the touring experiences that it offers. THE LUME can transform into a digitally integrated spectacle perfect for hosting an array of cultural, sports, and wellness events. The company is actively seeking partners and venues worldwide to establish new LUME venues.

Grande Experiences recently celebrated the 100th display of Van Gogh Alive, at Warehouse TERRADA G Building in Tokyo. The exhibition marks a milestone for the world-renowned multi-sensory immersive experience which has toured the world from Rome to Berlin, Sydney, and Singapore.
