WhiteWater tallest water slide in America The Rise of Icarus

The Rise of Icarus at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park features a 145-foot tall High-Speed AquaTube

WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, has partnered with Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park and the architecture firm Ramaker on the Rise of Icarus, a new attraction which features the tallest water slide in America.

The Rise of Icarus has opened for the season at the park in Wisconsin. The 160-foot tall slide tower offers a Freefall, four AquaTubes, and vivid colours that provide an exciting interpretation of the story of Icarus.

Onno Meeter, president of water parks at WhiteWater, comments “It’s always a pleasure to work with the Laskaris family, who has shown time and time again that Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park not only pushes boundaries with its attractions but also offers one-of-a-kind guest experiences to draw visitors to the region.”

The tallest slide is a High-Speed AquaTube named The Fall. Riders will plummet from a record-breaking height of 44 metres (145 feet) with a length of 237 metres (780 feet), at speeds which reach 48 km/h (30 mph).

Below The Fall, four slides of differing lengths launch visitors from a height of 17 metres (57 feet).

Maria Laskaris, social media marketer at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park, says: “The Rise of Icarus holds a special place in our family and park as we continually strive to introduce new and innovative attractions to our area.”

Fofo Backhaus, director of marketing, adds: “Since The Rise of Icarus opened, we’ve been thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic reactions. Riders can’t get enough—they’re rushing back up the tower to experience all five body slides. Each slide is fast and exhilarating, definitely worth the wait and anticipation!”

The Rise of Icarus joins Medusa’s Slidewheel, the Western Hemisphere’s first revolving water slide, which opened at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park two years ago.

Later this summer, the park will launch a new outdoor kids’ section, Icaria Splash ‘n Slide, from WhiteWater. This will feature 10 new slides, a variety of water play activities, and Life Floor.

Last month, WhiteWater was recognised as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth time. In addition, the firm was awarded the Gold Standard for the third consecutive year.
