Warwick Castle has opened its new hotel, which includes more than 60 medieval-themed rooms and an animatronic horse and knight.
Set in the heart of Warwick Castle’s 64-acre grounds, the hotel is designed to resemble a medieval hall with a rough cast render, timber cladding and shingle roof tiles.
Inside the hotel, guests can enjoy a rearing animatronic horse with a knight riding on its back, as well as talking historical portraits that interact with guests and provide an oral history of Warwick Castle and its grounds.

Each room in the hotel is inspired by the Wars of the Roses, with rose motifs, rich fabrics, and wooden beams and shields.
Liam Bartlett, general manager at Warwick Castle, said: “We are so proud to announce that we have now opened the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel.
“Following years of meticulously planning every element to make each stay inspiring and memorable for our visitors, it’s incredibly exciting that we can now share our newest accommodation offering with our guests which be open all year round and offer something unique across the seasons.”
Guests at the new hotel will pay from £159 for bed and breakfast for a family of four, or £199 for bed and breakfast for a family of four with a one-day ticket.
Merlin’s accommodation expansion
Warwick Castle’s £16.4 million hotel has increased its accommodation capacity to more than 300 overnight guests at any one time.
It joins existing accommodation at the site, including the Caesar’s Tower Suites in the castle’s 14th century tower, and the Knight’s Village woodland lodges and medieval glamping.
As part of the hotel project, Warwick Castle operator Merlin Entertainments will plant 1,000 trees on the castle grounds.
Alton Towers, another Merlin site, has opened the world’s first Bluey-themed hotel rooms at its CBeebies Land Hotel.
