Disneyland’s Splash Mountain replacement is open

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a new ride themed to The Princess and the Frog, has officially opened to guests at Disneyland in California.

The family-friendly, water-based attraction replaces Disneyland’s Splash Mountain log flume ride and is located in the theme park‘s new Bayou Country area, a transformation of the former Critter Country.

Riders board log flumes and take a musical journey through the bayou in search of performers for a Mardi Gras party hosted by Tiana and her alligator friend Louis.

Along the way, guests meet characters including Mama Odie and many new critters. After the thrilling 50-foot drop, guests find themselves immersed in Tiana’s celebrations.

“We’re thrilled for our guests to experience the transformation of the westside of Disneyland Park with the joyful Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, reimagined Bayou Country and expanded New Orleans Square – immersive stories and experiences that guests can only find at Disneyland Resort,” said Disneyland president Ken Potrock.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features dozens of audio-animatronics figures, and a new soundtrack with music from the film and new compositions.

Several stars from The Princess and the Frog have reprised their roles for the new attraction, including Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, and Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis.

As above, the ride is part of Disneyland’s new Bayou Country zone, which includes reimagined retail locations like Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club.

In New Orleans Square, guests can visit the new Tiana’s Palace restaurant for gumbo and beignets, and a themed retail outlet named Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets.

To enjoy the new ride, guests currently need to join a virtual queue via the Disneyland app. There is no standby queue for the attraction.
