New wands can be used to create magical experiences by casting spells

Interactive wands to go on sale in the Harry Potter land at Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s upcoming fourth theme park, have been unveiled.

One of Epic Universe’s five themed lands is a new Wizarding World of Harry Potter, based on the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series, as well as 1920s Paris in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise.

Rides and attractions in this land include Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, which is billed as one of Universal’s most impressive attractions to date, with immersive environments, powerful storytelling, and unique ride technology.

Also part of the new land is Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique, a shop selling interactive wands. A new Universal Orlando and Harry Potter social media post with images of some of the new wands states: “Garrick Ollivander may have held that it’s the wand that chooses the wizard… but esteemed artisan wandmaker Cosme Acajor thinks the wizard has some say in the matter.

“Her unique approach to wandlore and Parisian couture influence come together to create not only a fine wand, but a work of art,” the Instagram post adds.

Wands purchased from Cosme Acajor can be used to create magical experiences by casting spells at various locations. Visitors can also interact with fantastic beasts like Nifflers, as well as enchanted objects around the land.

Universal Epic Universe to open in May

Epic Universe opens on 22 May, joining Universal Orlando’s existing theme parks – Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Volcano Bay.

The new Wizarding World is Universal Orland’s third Harry Potter-themed land, following Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida and Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure.

Late last month, Universal Orlando opened its first Epic Universe hotel, the Universal Stella Nova Resort. This is home to 750 rooms, and cosmic-themed F&B options and amenities.
