New ship features innovative attractions and immersive experiences

Norwegian Cruise Line has welcomed its first guests on its newest ship, Norwegian Aqua, which features the world’s first hybrid coaster and waterslide.

Visitors experienced the new cruise ship on its inaugural voyage from Lisbon to Southampton, England.

The trip was part of a showcase sailing, which concludes in Miami with the official christening voyage in April.

“This is a milestone moment for Norwegian Cruise Line as we set sail aboard Norwegian Aqua, a ship designed to offer our guests more – more wide-open space, more thrills, more culinary experiences, and more immersive entertainment,” said David Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.

Norwegian Aqua is an innovative new ship with attractions including the Aqua Slidecoaster by wiegand.waterrides, aĀ leading water rides and attraction provider.

This is the world’s first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide – offering two unique ride experiences as the longest and fastest slides at sea.
