accesso Technology Group PLC, a leading technology provider for attractions worldwide, has acquired the technology of 1RISK, a provider of cloud-based online liability waiver and incident risk management data solutions for the leisure and recreation sector, with a focus on the ski industry.
1RISK was established in 2012, and created technology that optimises the process of securing liability waivers for activities ranging from ticket and pass purchases, to equipment rentals and lessons.
Its range of SaaS-based solutions grew to include risk management tools, such as incident reporting and dispatch operations tracking. With these functions, operators can use data to incrementally lower the frequency and severity of incidents.
Expanding the accesso product suite
1Waive, 1RISK’s liability waiver application, is the leading product of its kind for ski resorts across North America. The technology is used by over 160 venues across the region, of which almost half are also accesso clients, and facilitated the completion of more than 4 million waivers last year.
accesso has supported integration with 1Waiver across its eCommerce and POS technologies for some time. Looking ahead, the 1RISK solutions will be provided as part of accesso’s comprehensive product library, and will be exclusively available to accesso clients.
Steve Brown, CEO of accesso, says: “As the leading provider of commerce solutions for the ski operators across North America, further enhancing the accesso offering with 1RISK’s proven technology extends our commitment to delivering innovative, comprehensive solutions to the leisure sector.”
“As a long-standing partner of accesso, we have seen first-hand their dedication to innovation and guest experience,” says Charles Mickley, founder and CEO of 1RISK. “We are excited to see the range of 1RISK technology become an integral part of accesso’s powerful ecosystem, helping operators support their overall approach to risk management.”
1RISK staff members will join accesso once the asset acquisition is completed. Here, they will continue to contribute to the development of advanced risk management technologies, customised to the unique needs of ski resorts, recreation venues and activity-based destinations across the world.
Last month, accesso announced that it has been selected as the guest experience technology provider for the Qiddiya giga-project in Saudi Arabia. The company will roll out its leading-edge ticketing and visitor management solution, accesso Horizon, across Qiddiya’s vaired range of attractions.
