Lamberink Ferris Wheels, a leading specialist in the manufacturing, renting, and refurbishing of Ferris wheels, is working with SAIL 2025, the largest free public event in the Netherlands, to provide one of its signature observation wheels at a landmark location: the Kop van Java.
The event draws millions of visitors, and attendees will be able to enjoy a unique bird’s-eye view of the historic tall ships, the IJ waterfront, and the vibrant festival atmosphere. This partnership marks a significant milestone for Lamberink, underscoring how temporary attractions can create lasting memories and enhance world-class events.
It also reinforces Lamberink Ferris Wheels’ role as a creator of elevated experiences at major international events.
Enhancing the festive setting
“After 10 years, we are finally welcoming the Tall Ships and their crews back to our capital, which is celebrating its 750th anniversary,” says Casper Schins, head of marketing for SAIL 2025.
“For five days, we will celebrate unity on and around the waters of Amsterdam’s IJ with over 2 million visitors. From the Ferris wheel, visitors can admire the Tall Ships and the beautiful spectacle on the water, which not only enhances their experience but also adds to the festive setting of the event.
“Presenting partner RTL will take care of the decoration of the Ferris wheel, and together with Lamberink, we hope to offer many visitors a unique experience!”
Sebastiaan Lamberink, director at Lamberink Ferris Wheels, adds:
“SAIL captures the spirit of adventure, heritage and connection – and our Ferris wheels are designed to amplify exactly that. We’re proud to contribute to such a historic event and look forward to offering visitors an unforgettable view over the ships, the city, and the spectacle.”
With a portfolio of landmark appearances at major international festivals and city events, Lamberink delivers safe, high-quality panoramic rides that leave a lasting impression. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Street Machine to bring the first large Ferris wheel to Chile, installing it in the coastal city of Viña del Mar as a permanent attraction.
