Vekoma Karls ride reveal

Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, and Karls Erlebnis-Dorf have announced the debut of two custom Family Boomerang coasters in summer 2026. These will be located at the German Karls Erlebnis-Dorf park in Döbeln, with the second location to be revealed soon.

“This major expansion marks a bold step forward in delivering unforgettable experiences to our visitors,” says Robert Dahl, founder of Karls Erlebnis-Dorf. “We’re constantly looking for ways to surprise and delight our guests. These new coasters will bring a fresh level of excitement for families and coaster fans alike.”

Strawberry theme for dynamic new coaster

On the Vekoma booth at IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona, the front coach of the new train was unveiled, highlighting Karls’ distinctive strawberry-themed design. This playful mix of imagination and creativity captures the park’s character and will be paired with a dynamic coaster ride.

“We’re proud of our partnership with Karls Erlebnis-Dorf and bring not just one, but two Family Boomerang coasters to life,” says Stefan Holtman, sales director at Vekoma Rides.

“These coasters are designed to deliver thrills for the whole family, combining smooth ride dynamics with imaginative theming that perfectly aligns with Karls’ playful and immersive park experience.”

Each Family Boomerang coaster will have a unique layout, carefully designed to suit its specific location and environment.

The coaster in the Döbeln park will offer a 460-meter ride with a top speed of 60 km/h, featuring both forward and backward runs, ending with a 25-meter nearly vertical spike. The layout features left-right swerving and fun elements, including bunny hops and airtime moments. With a rider height restriction of only 95cm, it provides excitement suitable for families of all ages, including first-time riders.

These new attractions showcase Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer’s ongoing dedication to innovation, storytelling, and crafting immersive experiences for visitors of all ages.

Earlier this year, Vekoma opened a new and extended office in Orlando, US, strengthening its presence and demonstrating its commitment to serving its growing client base in the region.
