West Midland Safari Park has submitted for approval plans for a £1 million walk around attraction based on the Ice Age.
An application submitted to Wyre Forest District Council described some of the features of the outdoor attraction. The interactive experience will feature an ice cave, static and animatronic life-size replicas of extinct animals and a walk-through eight-metre high volcano structure.
Planning documents say the attraction will be “educational” and “capture the imagination of visitors.” To goal will be to provide an immersive experience – allowing visitors to imagine what the world felt like during the Ice Age.
It is not clear when the attraction would open to visitors if planning permission is approved.
A consultation period for the proposal will run until September 14.
West Midland Safari Park is located in Bewdley in Worcestershire, England. It was opened in spring 1973. The park holds over 165 species of exotic animals.
