Dynamic Crowdfunding platform encourages visitors to support attractions

WishTrip, a leading tourism experience management platform, has announced the creation of a location-based platform which allows visitors to support their favourite destinations. This will allow attractions like zoos, aquariums, museums and parks to raise additional funds through crowdfunding campaigns.

Dynamic Crowdfunding increases contributions by connecting guests with the attraction they are visiting, through their mobile app in real-time, showing them how they can contribute in a meaningful way to support that destination.

Dynamic Crowdfunding

Many attractions have been hit hard by the global pandemic and are turning to fundraising campaigns to help with their recovery. This innovation takes the best parts of internet crowdfunding and adds extra features to create a powerful new fundraising tool.

While the average donation by visitors to UK museums is around £1 per person, internet crowdfunding platforms raise more than $84 billion each year – the equivalent to over $10 for each person on the planet – showing there is much potential here for revenue generation.

This new tool creates moments throughout the destination, allowing guests to connect with causes that move them, and giving attractions access to new channels for raising funds.

More opportunities to raise funds

“We are honoured to provide a completely new type of solution that will help recreational, educational, and cultural destinations thrive in a time of crisis and beyond,” says Bezalel Lenzizky, CEO of WishTrip.

“Most visitor destinations and attractions are leaving money on the table simply because they are asking for donations at the wrong time. Our platform lets destination managers pick the perfect moment to ask by showing how a specific contribution will help the exhibit or trail a visitor is enjoying at that time.”

Lenzizky realised that most attractions are simply asking for donations at the wrong time, usually at the gate when visitors are tired and ready to leave. With WishTrip’s solution, operators can easily set up and try out different fundraising opportunities throughout their venue. For instance, when visiting a tiger exhibit at a zoo during feeding time, they might be offered the chance to help fund the animals’ meal.

The pre-release version is now available to all WishTrip destinations. The company also recently released a suite of solutions to help attractions reopen safely in the wake of COVID-19.
