Leading creator of exceptional visitor experiences, JRA (Jack Rouse Associates), has been chosen by Eastman Kodak Company to plan, design and implement a brand new Experience Centre.
The 9000 square foot facility at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York, will both reference Kodak’s history and celebrate its latest innovations. These encompass imaging, printing, software, consumer products and intellectual property solutions.
“We have been working very closely with Kodak to create a space where guests can re-discover the impact that Kodak has had in their lives,” explained Randy Smith, Senior Project Director, JRA. “They have always supported creativity with their products and processes and this will be a great place to celebrate that.”
The company has been commissioned to deliver the complete visitor experience including a lobby, exhibits, a cafe and retail outlet. Building 28 at the business park will be redeveloped to house the centre.
In the lobby, guests will have the chance to try out new products. Displays will focus on Kodak’s history of innovation. According to JRA, the design will blend the building’s existing materials with a contemporary new look.
Visitors to the exhibit area will discover Kodak’s many current innovations in photography, film, printing, digital imaging, and chemistry.
A coffee shop and seating area will encourage guests to linger. Here, they can view displays showcasing new products alongside heritage artefacts.
No visit will be complete without a visit to the shop. Here, guests will be able to purchase film and branded merchandise as well as the latest Kodak products. Heritage displays will share shelf space with current products. These might include the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone and the new KODAK Super 8 camera.
“We have a fascinating story to share,” added Dolores Kruchten, President of Eastman Business Park. “The JRA team is the ideal partner to help us create a venue where visitors can learn about the company’s rich history and experience Kodak today.”
