Paragon to create new Rubik's themed attractions: VR escape rooms, logic-based mazes and more

Leading creative design and build company, Paragon Creative is currently in discussion with a number of operators to roll out a Rubik’s branded FEC/Escape Room attraction.

The company has recently signed a deal with the Smiley Company to bring the famous toy  brand to life with a range of interactive solutions.

Since then, the pair have reportedly been hard at work developing ideas to bring a new dimension to the famous toy brand.

The intention is to apply Rubik’s brain-teasing logic and progressive difficulty to the new attractions. The solutions are likely to feature the brand’s bright colours and trademark twisting motion. Aside from VR escape rooms and logic-based mazes, they could include family favourites such as soft play, climbing and crazy golf.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with the themed attractions experts at Paragon Creative on this range of leisure concepts for Rubik’s,” confirms Lori Heiss Tiplady, Vice President of Brand Strategy at The Smiley Company.

A uniqely Rubik’s twist on popular attractions

“Innovation, interactivity and challenging fun are at the heart of these concepts, which will push participants to use their brain power to conquer physical tasks for a uniquely Rubik’s twist on popular attractions.”

“We are facing increasing demand from retail developers to supply branded leisure attractions to increase dwell time and create third space destinations to the market,” adds Mark Pyrah, Development Director and founder of Paragon Creative.

“Having an internationally recognised brand like Rubik’s accessible to all age groups allows us the scope to create incredible experiences to service this growing requirement across the globe.”

Rubik’s Cube was invented in 1974 by a young Hungarian professor, Erno Rubik. Launched as a toy in 1980, it is the world’s best selling toy ever with over 400 million sold.
