Christie projection powers immersive yoga experience in Switzerland

News
Immersive yoga Casa Boost Christie

Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, has announced that its projection technology has helped Casa Boost, a wellness studio in Geneva, Switzerland, transform yoga into a deeply immersive experience.

The project uses Christie Captiva DWU500S ultra-short-throw laser projectors, and the installation was carried out by Moonlight Drive in partnership with The Good Brand. It turns a single wall into a dynamic visual canvas that enhances meditation and movement sessions with vivid projections of landscapes, galaxies, and flowing textures.

Casa Boost is a thoughtfully designed environment where light, sound, and movement come together to foster both physical and mental growth. To enhance this idea, the studio aimed to move beyond traditional yoga class formats and develop a space where visuals would enhance the emotional experience of each session.

However, the challenge was that the venue is a long, narrow room with limited projection space and architectural obstacles. “The only way to fully cover the projection area without compromising on focus or brightness was with Christie Captiva,” says Luis Guadalajara, director at Moonlight Drive.

“Their ultra-short throw capability was key in avoiding shadows during classes, even when the room is full.”

Enhancing the yoga experience

Two Christie Captiva DWU500S projectors, equipped with 1DLP laser technology and a WUXGA resolution of 1920×1200, were installed side by side to produce a seamless blend on a wall measuring 9 metres by 2.2 metres (30 feet by 7 feet), which functions as the projection surface.

The wall, painted in a neutral grey to enhance colour vibrancy, displays looped videos customised for each class, ranging from peaceful natural scenes to animated cosmic journeys.

The Captiva projectors feature ultra-short-throw lenses (0.25:1), 5,000 lumens of brightness, and a quiet, low-profile design, offering an ideal balance of performance and subtlety. Their laser illumination ensures up to 20,000 hours of use with little maintenance, and built-in edge blending and warping functions help address structural obstacles within the room.

The immersive visuals, shown in 3840×1200 resolution, smoothly integrate with the session’s rhythm, creating what Casa Boost describes as “pure magic—no filters, no edits, just you and your body in the magical room.”

A fully-integrated solution

Despite limitations like load-bearing requirements and a tight one-day installation window, Moonlight Drive and The Good Brand provided a seamless, fully integrated solution. “Everything was planned remotely, based on measurements and 3D simulations. We arrived with everything ready, executed in one day, and the results exceeded expectations,” says Guadalajara.

“The client was blown away when they saw the final result on-site. The reaction was immediate, and the immersive classes have been a real success with the studio’s community.”

The Christie Captiva projectors were provided by Christie partner Charmex. The project was initiated thanks to The Good Brand, which linked Casa Boost with Moonlight Drive. The setup included the projection system, a content server with two outputs, ambient audio, and automated scheduling synced with class routines.

Casa Boost’s installation redefines wellness spaces by showcasing how projection technology can innovate experiential design in health and fitness environments.

Earlier this year, Christie celebrated the opening of Xpark meets NAKED – Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean at Xpark Aquarium in Taipei, Taiwan. The exhibition uses 22 Christie 1DLP laser projectors and content management solutions.
