Tyg Tickets: a personal touch in the digital age

As the Tyg team prepares to exhibit at the Museums + Heritage Show 2023, we find out what its dynamic solution can do for attractions

Tyg Tickets is a dynamic, cloud-based ticketing solution for a range of businesses, from small visitor attractions to large corporate entities. Keeping customers informed and updated with its robust and responsive automatic email system, safeguarding the security of data, maximising bookings, and making customers happy, Tyg facilitates stress-free contactless ticketing.

To find out more about the firm’s technology and how it can streamline operations, blooloop speaks to Maureen Huck, operations manager at Tyg Tickets:

The company has been operating for 13 years. It has grown from its origins as a solution for a single historic house to a provider of ticketing software for events, visitor attractions, and arts and culture venues across the country. Initially, a company called HySoft developed the platform. Jeff Alcock, director and systems analyst at Hysoft, worked closely with everybody concerned on that first project, and the result was the creation of Tyg Tickets.

“All of a sudden, the operator moved from writing everything down on Excel spreadsheets to selling tickets online,” explains Huck, of the moment that the platform became a reality. “That was great.”

Taking control of online ticket sales

The Tyg Tickets e-ticketing software system allows operators to take control of their online ticket sales. Attractions can sell tickets online with the company’s cloud-based software, safe payment gateway and secure checkout pages.

It has been created as an accessible and affordable solution. Huck says:

“The key to this is the fact that we keep Tyg current. We are continually looking at trends, updating the software, and creating new tools for clients. When we go to marketing events, it’s clear our competitors charge extra for all these additional features.”

TYG Tickets

Because Tyg Tickets was initially created for the heritage market, it was quickly adopted, she explains, by other historic houses.

“From there, we have grown and grown,” she says.

A tailored cloud-based ticketing system software for visitor attractions, cultural venues, and seasonal and corporate events, Tyg Tickets makes selling tickets straightforward. This has ensured its exponential growth.

The company has a strong and varied client base across the leisure and attractions industries, from historical destinations and museums to sporting venues and music festivals. It can cater to individual small businesses and multimillion-pound conglomerates, offering individually tailored services to meet each client’s individual requirements.

The Tyg platform is highly flexible in its configuration. With the addition of the EPOS tills it can adapt to a spectrum of business needs across all retail areas. And, with its cloud-based software, there is no installation required or heavy download. It has a safe payment gateway and secure checkout pages.

Tyg Tickets offers different packages

Whether you want total control, or you need Tyg Tickets to help, there is a range of different ticket packages to suit the needs of any business, of any size.

“We’ve got a really good cross-section of businesses,” Huck says. “We continue to be a popular choice for historic houses. Also, we have vintage railways, leisure centres, and countless visitor attractions. We provide our services to a women’s football team, to clients who organise and run marvellous concerts at beautiful stately homes, and to many more.”

Friends-at-aquarium

“One of the key things that we’ve done this quarter is to work with another curiously niche client base: fishermen,” she says. “One of our clients in this sector is also currently raising money for charity. When our clients are fundraising for charity, we aim to support them in any way we can.”

Adding to the available tools

Tyg Tickets has expanded its Gate Manager tool. This is a free download for clients to use to scan and verify tickets and membership. Highlighting another sector that benefits from this app, Huck identifies a number of clients who provide outdoor activities, such as high ropes, kayaking, canoeing, climbing and caving:

“They love our Gate Manager app. It can be used offline, for instance by an instructor standing at an oak tree in the wood with no internet.”

Why choose Tyg Tickets

In terms of Attraction Apps, the River Dart Country Park uses the visitor app with interactive maps and wallet accounts, which contains any tickets and membership cards. Visitors can also buy tickets while on site which are available for use immediately via their app

“Tyg is one of the top membership module companies available,” she comments. “From point of sale online to the in-house printing out of a bureau quality card; it tracks all the memberships. It also generates auto-renewals, auto payments, reminder letters, and so on.”

Tyg Tickets expands

Essentially, Tyg is software as a service. It’s a booking and management platform that gives clients the ability to add online sales easily to their websites and provides payment processing. Every ticket and membership pass has a unique barcode and authorisation history ensuring excellent security and traceability. All of this is backed by its globally recognised payment and security partners.

Identifying the factors that differentiate Tyg Tickets from its competitors in the market, Huck says:

“We provide excellent customer service, as evidenced by our client loyalty. There is a support button on the Tyg dashboard, and using inbuilt dashboard tools, a client can reach out and receive a response within a short timeframe. We can access the system and correct issues even if we are in remote locations at the time allowing an excellent level of support. You, as the client, will speak to the same person.”

Being a very down-to-earth, straightforward team is one of Tyg’s unique selling points, she adds. The system keeps customers informed and updated with a robust and responsive automatic email system. This is supported by outstanding customer service, which is a feature in itself.

Training is key

Another unique feature of the Tyg package is training. Videos for clients are proving extremely popular and successful. The team also use platforms such as Zoom for short burst training sessions.

In addition, Huck says:

Tyg Ticket builder

“From a finance perspective, we don’t hide our costs.  The finance team is excellent and will take time with each client when required. They are responsive and proactive, and everything happens in real-time.”

The Tyg Tickets system prioritises the customers’ peace of mind and continually updates its cloud-based platform. This means that clients benefit from the most recent and secure technology. The ticketing system software integrates with major bank and payment providers, and the Tyg Wallet technology accelerates the sales process, making purchasing easy.

Because safety is crucial, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 safeguard the security of customer data.

With the Tyg system, features such as contactless entry keep visitors safe, and the process stress-free. Memberships are renewed automatically, visitor feedback is collected, subscriptions are tracked, pre- and post-visit emails are sent, flexible shopping is optimised, and a comprehensive visitor profile is constructed with CRM technology. Users can streamline gate management, and boost revenue through the leveraging of social media, dynamic pricing, and early bird-type offers.

Meet the Tyg Tickets team at the Museums + Heritage Show 2023

Tyg Tickets Museum + Heritage show

Concerning expansion, Huck explains that the firm tends to expand organically. 99% of its new business comes from recommendations and word of mouth. The team also attends the Museums + Heritage show in London each year:

“A lot of our clients can get there, and a chance to meet with them, have a coffee, and catch up is always welcome.”

This year, Tyg Tickets is also sponsoring the Visitor Welcome Award, as part of the annual Museums + Heritage Awards ceremony which takes place during the event.

“The Museums and Heritage Show is such a fantastic arena for the heritage sector to come together. Tyg Tickets are thrilled to be sponsoring this award for its second year. Our ticketing platform was designed specifically for historic properties. We value the opportunity as a business to provide our sponsorship and support.”

Tyg Tickets looks to the future and continues to refine its product

Tyg is currently in the process of developing refinements to the customer journey with additional tools available to clients.

When it comes to existing retail, TygPoS provides a 360 retail provision for clients. This is something that is proving successful in the client base.

Tyg’s dynamic CRM technology, meanwhile, optimises opportunities by offering valuable insights into customer behaviour. Clients can then use these insights in order to target marketing optimally.  The intuitive software helps clients build a comprehensive overview of their specific audience, identifying trends, and enabling the rewarding of loyalty, and the deepening of trust.

Integrated marketing tools with finely-honed reporting features help clients create targeted messages that reach the right people, at the right time. Furthermore, Tyg’s skilled team is always on hand to help with the interpretation and application of data. This ensures clients make the most of the Tyg CRM technology.

Future-proof, agile and friendly, Tyg Tickets offers a personal touch in the digital age.

Tyg Tickets will be exhibiting at the Museums + Heritage Show 2023 on 10 & 11 May at the London Olympia, at stand #B4. To book a free ticket to the show in order to meet Huck and the team, please click here
