Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualization solutions, has launched a new presentation switcher to support live events and attractions.
Barco is pleased to announce its new product, the PDS-4K, a full-screen presentation switcher that supports high-quality visual experiences at attractions and live events, as well as corporate meeting spaces. The company has responded to users’ needs with a flexible and simple content management solution.
The PDS-4K is the latest edition to the trusted Barco Event Master and screen management systems, providing seamless switching and quality image processing.
4K is now the standard expectation from audiences, meaning that operators need a switcher that can handle both legacy 4D sources and newer 4K devices. This new solution features eight 4K inputs as well as two 4K seamless mixing program outputs. The PDS-4K also uses the Athena scaling technology for easy scaling and mixing.
Andrew Poley, CEO of Don’t Wonder Productions, says: “This PDS-4K fills the dark hole of 4K processing for smaller rooms that has loomed over our industry for years. We are excited to have a simple solution for 4K switching with the reliability of Barco. It will be a game-changer for the corporate event world.”
For convenience and ease-of-use, the switcher is compatible with all Barco visualisation solutions and collaboration tools. It can be controlled with Event Master or combined with Barco Overture or other third-party control panels.
The PDS-4K is ideally suited to a range of environments, from live shows and attractions to corporate presentations in large meeting spaces such as boardrooms and auditoriums. It can be used alongside ClickShare devices, which are in use at over 750,000 meeting spaces across the globe, to provide the best visual experience for presentations.
“With the introduction of the PDS-4K in the workplace environment, we can leverage on our expertise in the rental and staging industry to enable the most premium corporate presentations with unprecedented ease-of-use, image quality and reliability,” says Wim de Bruyne, VP Meeting Experience.
“Ensuring the viewing comfort of board members and guests, presenters only need one click to switch between content and access a wide range of layouts and a set of professional transitions.”
Barco recently provided quality display solutions for a new temporary exhibition by the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent called “Van Eyck: An Optical Revolution.”
