Fantawild partners with Coolabi Group to bring Clangers to China

Fantawild Holdings Inc., a leading one-stop solution provider in the theme park industry, has teamed up with Coolabi Group to bring the popular Clangers brand to the Chinese market.

Fantawild Holdings Inc. has announced a new partnership with international rights owner Coolabi Group in order to bring the iconic Clangers brand to the Chinese market.

The Clangers originally appeared on BBC One in the UK in 1969 and has been winning fans around the world ever since. The first series, featuring the lovable stop-motion characters, finished in 1972, but an award-winning new series aired in 2015 and has been charming a new generation of viewers.

The show, which follows a family of pink, mouse-like creatures who speak in whistles and live on the Little Blue Planet, has won several international honours including BAFTA, Pulcinella Awards and Kidscreen awards.

In the best hands

At the annual Fantawild Animation Expo, Jeremy Banks, CEO of Coolabi Group said: “I knew that we had to work with Fantawild in China on this property the first time I met with them and heard their vision for Clangers in China. They are very well-established and respected and we trust that Clangers is in the best of hands with them.”

Fantawild will localise the show and develop new merchandise. This will make it more appealing to Chinese preschoolers.

The enlightening program will stimulate children’s imagination and become a unique presence in the Chinese market.”

Coolabi Group is an independent international media group and rights owner, specialising in high-quality children’s and family IP rights. It owns the rights to more than 200 book series as well as 20 TV series, with shows airing in over 140 territories, and on popular channels such as ABC, Cartoon Network, CBeebies, CBBC, Disney, Netflix, and Nickelodeon.

Fantawild has opened several new attractions this year including the high-tech cultural theme parks Fantawild Oriental Legend in Handan and Fantawild Oriental Heritage in Jingzhou.
