EyeClick, experts in creating spectacular interactive gaming displays, has installed a second BEAM system at The Explorium of Lexington in Kentucky.
The Explorium of Lexington aims to provide hands-on interactive experiences that inspire children to learn. Having previously installed a BEAM floor unit as part of the “Let’s Move” exhibit, The Explorium’s curators added a BEAM Wall in late 2012 and have seen more families interacting together at the museum as a result.
Catie Richwine, Programming Coordinator and Curator, said, “Living in such a digital environment, it can be easy to be swept into the world of small screens and virtual interaction. But the BEAM Wall brings the focus up from a small monitor by marrying a fun technological experience with an interactive game play that is achieved as a family unit, instead of individually. This is our goal: Family Interaction.”
Richwine has noted that the exhibit has attracted a broader age range with families creating their own games which can then be displayed on the BEAM Wall. She says, “They can see their project complete a full circle of design, development, and visitor interaction. This will help expand participants’ knowledge of how much work really goes into the gaming devices we know and love by deepening a child’s appreciation.”
