Clip ‘n Climb, an international leader in the fun climbing market, has created custom climbing walls for shoppers in London and Birmingham in partnership with Selfridges, one of the UK’s leading luxury department stores, to commemorate its 100-year legacy of sporting spectacle.

This summer is unquestionably focused on sports, with the European Football Championship, Copa América, Wimbledon, and the Olympic Games – and Selfridges is joining the fun. The two climbing walls offer unique experiences with bespoke designs. The London wall was developed in collaboration with Los Angeles based creative studio Play Lab Inc.

Danny Hodgson, commercial manager at Clip ‘n Climb, says: “We have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Selfridges on this bespoke project. Turning their vision into reality has been an exciting journey. Both walls offer a unique design specific to the brand, making them eye catching and memorable. We’re confident they will attract many enthusiastic climbers.”

Unique climbing experiences

The Climbing Column at Selfridges London matches the aesthetic of the iconic store. The wall reaches 40 feet high, with four climbing lines. It is ideally positioned in the busy Edwards Mews at the back of the store and can accommodate a large number of visitors, complementing their shopping experience with an exciting physical challenge.

At Selfridges Birmingham, Clip ‘n Climb has created a wall specifically for the Selfridges Sportopia concept with colourful panels and holds. This project, which stands 10m tall and has four climbing lines, makes the best use of a small area in the store’s central atrium and enables many customers to enjoy the climbing experience during the summer months.

Clip ‘n Climb has effectively integrated its booking system into the Selfridges website, leveraging its nearly two decades of operational expertise. The branded user interface, in the store’s trademark yellow and black colour scheme, ensures a smooth customer experience. Staffing support for the Selfridges project is being provided by Clip ‘n Climb Wandsworth, demonstrating the firm’s strong franchise relationships.

In addition to bespoke projects like the collaboration with Selfridges, the firm offers a range of ways to invest including franchises (UK only), stand-alone centres, or facilities as part of an activity centre.

Clip ‘n Climb recently launched Artifact, the latest addition to its catalogue of fun climbing challenges. Artifact is a visually appealing and accessible addition to Clip ‘n Climb and offers four climbing lines of varying difficulty.
