d’strict, a digital media content and technology design company, has collaborated with a luxury fashion brand for a festive display.
The Korean digital design company collaborated with French house Dior to present a lavish and majestic Christmas media façade exclusively for Dior Seongsu, on view every evening from 5 pm for a limited time.
The installation, which is based primarily on the Dior brand identity, was made especially for the holiday celebrations and is projected on the façade of the French fashion house’s new store in Seoul.
Celebrating fashion heritage
The most recent media artwork by d’strict pays homage to the creator of their collaborator, Christian Dior, who reputedly had dreams of being an architect before founding one of the most well-known fashion businesses. Through painstaking planning and the skilful application of projection mapping technology, this celebratory work showcases the distinctive architectural profile of the Dior Seongsu.
Four poetic animated sequences have been used to channel the know-how couture of the fashion house, utilising iconic visual icons from Dior’s long history.
In keeping with the “Four Worlds” theme, the content conjures up draperies in motion and features a sparkling rendition of “cannage,” the brand’s iconic pattern that symbolises its long history of craftsmanship, the “Lucky Star,” a cornucopia of flowers and petals gracefully scattering, and dazzling fireworks as a bouquet’s final flourish.
In addition to celebrating the brand’s tremendous accomplishments in 2022 and the enthusiasm for the coming year, this floral and ostentatious design is a tribute to Christian Dior’s love of nature.
Beautiful artwork
Another component of this comprehensive media art project is currently on display at the venue’s restaurant, Cafe Dior. The Granville Villa, 30 Montaigne, and the Colle Noire, as three of the fashion house’s most important architectural landmarks, have been digitally recreated in a panoramic piece of art. It follows the many hours of the day, from early morning to night, against a wintery backdrop, tracing the beauty and mystique of Dior’s visual legacy, which is further emphasised by the magic of the seasons.
By balancing tradition and innovation in this Christmas project, d’strict says it has solidified its position as a leader in the nation’s digital design sector.
Before the Christmas project, d’strict collaborated with Dior to create a teaser campaign for the store’s May debut. The teaser was displayed in Korea’s largest LED display, K-Pop Square in Samseong-dong, Seoul, as well as another media wall for Cafe Dior.
