Ireland’s Emerald Park has shared a first look at two new coasters opening in May as part of the new Tír na nÓg land.
The new coasters are part of Emerald Park’s Tír na nÓg development, its first fully themed and immersive land. An opening date for the €22 million land will be revealed next month.
The 6.5-acre land is a first for Emerald Park. It will house two coasters and a classic ride, a Zierer Waveswinger. Both new coasters were made by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist.
One is a Suspended Thrill Coaster, offering a top speed of 90 km/h, a track length of 750m, and five inversions. The other is a Family Boomerang. This includes a maximum speed of 60km/h, airtime hills, dives and turns.
Additionally, there will be new F&B outlets and retail spaces, all inspired by Tír na nÓg. In Irish mythology, Tír na nÓg is one of the names for the Celtic Otherworld.
“Today marks a monumental leap in Emerald Park’s journey as we unveil the trains on our two new roller coasters at Tír na nÓg,” said Charles Coyle, general manager of Emerald Park.
“This milestone not only signifies our dedication to creating fully themed and immersive experiences but also represents the culmination of years of hard work and innovation.

Jora Vision, a leading design and production company, worked on the theming strategy for the Tír na nÓg project.
Tayto’s sponsorship of Emerald Park ended in 2022. Tayto Park’s founder Raymond Coyle, who died in 2023, said the partnership “helped to create one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions”.
