Germany’s Europa-Park has installed the first piece of track for its 14th coaster, currently being built in the park’s new Croatia-themed area.

Last year, Europa-Park CEO Michael Mack confirmed that the planning application for the new coaster had been approved.

The coaster is being manufactured by Mack Rides. Per a press release, it takes four days for a each coaster rail element to be assembled, painted and prepared for transportation.

Last year, Mack described the new attraction as “one of the most modern and spectacular coasters in Europe” and “another spectacular highlight” for Europa-Park.

Europa-Park is releasing a series of videos on its VeeJoy streaming platform that unveil the ride’s development.

Europa-Park and the Rulantica water park feature more than 100 attractions. The resort, which has six hotels, welcomed a record 5.7 million visitors in 2019 before the pandemic disrupted attendance.

In the 2022, however, the largest theme park in Germany attracted more than six million visitors in a season for the first time in its history.

“We see this record as a huge vote of confidence from our visitors, and one that comes in a difficult year in which war, supply problems, inflation and the energy crisis have been making things difficult for all of us,” said Europa-Park owner Roland Mack.

He added: “People are looking for leisure and balance, and the Europa-Park resort, alongside the Rulantica water world, offers just that, which is an attractive travel destination in its own right.”

Europa-Park has invested more than €80 million in the past three years.
