In the 2022 season, Europa-Park attracted more than six million guests.

Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany, has welcomed more than six million visitors in a season for the first time in its history.

In the 2022 season, the destination attracted more than six million guests, which Europa-Park owner Roland Mack said is a “huge vote of confidence”.

“We see this record as a huge vote of confidence from our visitors, and one that comes in a difficult year in which war, supply problems, inflation and the energy crisis have been making things difficult for all of us,” said Mack.

He added: “People are looking for leisure and balance, and the Europa-Park resort, alongside the Rulantica water world, offers just that, which is an attractive travel destination in its own right.”

Europa-Park has invested more than €80 million in the past three years, Mack said. This year, the park is investing approximately €30m in renewable energy, with a new solar facility due to start operating in 2024.

Additionally, a new slide tower is being constructed in the Rulantica water park, and work has started on a roller coaster in the new Croatia-themed area.

Last year, Europa-Park CEO Michael Mack confirmed that the planning application for the park’s upcoming coaster had been approved.

Mack has described the new attraction as “one of the most modern and spectacular coasters in Europe” and “another spectacular highlight” for Europa-Park.

Europa-Park and Rulantica are home to more than 100 attractions. The resort, which has six hotels, welcomed a record 5.7 million visitors in 2019 before the pandemic disrupted attendance.
