A Dubai-based company’s Australian investment unit has announced plans for a waterpark as part of its AUS$400 million ($297.3 million) “active lifestyle” destination project on the Sunshine Coast.

Sanad Capital, owned by Dubai conglomerate Najibi Group, announced its collaboration with waterpark design leader WhiteWater West to develop Australia’s largest wave pool, set to create waves up to nine feet high.

The project also promises the world’s largest interactive aqua play structure, (2, 000 people at a time) and will feature the country’s first slide-boarding area,  adding a unique gaming- style interactive element to the waterpark.
