The Vietnamese government has approved the architects Chapman Taylor’s masterplan designs for the Mui Dinh Eco-Resort.
The resort will stretch over 1,100,000 m². The proposed site is set on the east coast of Vietnam. The design masterplan has been created by Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok studio.
The development aims to become an unrivalled hospitality-led mixed-use development in the region. It will comprise six resort hotels and a boutique hotel. Together they will provide a total of 7,000 rooms. 500 ocean-facing villas will also be created. All residents will be served by leisure facilities that will include a theme park, casino, beach club and a mountain clubhouse.
Mui Dinh Eco-Resort is designed to reflect the surrounding environment of sand, sea, salt and sun. It is also inspired by local history, in particular the Cham tribal culture and architecture. The design for the buildings echoes the softly rounded dome shapes of the local architecture.
“We are delighted that the Vietnamese government has given its full support to our masterplan and this ambitious and unique eco-development,” says Oscar Martinez, director of Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok studio. “It will transform this beautiful coastal area into a new exciting sustainable destination and give an economic boost to this region of eastern Vietnam.”
Chapman Taylor has 18 design studios across five continents. The company was established in 1959 and has won over 250 global design awards.
Mui Dinh lies in the Thuan Nam District, about 30 kilometres from Phan Rang City and about 300 kilometres northeast of Ho Ch Minh City. It’s situated between the resort towns of Mui Ne and Nha Trang. The promontory features wild beaches, white sand dunes and boulder-strewn terrain.
