Disneyland has updated several internal and external elements of the Haunted Mansion, which it teased in a first-look video detailing the “haunted home improvements”.
There are freshly landscaped details outside the attraction at the site for dead pets, including new plants and “new tales of tragedy for our beloved companions”.
Inside the attraction, Disney has made some design changes along the portrait hallway, including the return of an original portrait known as ‘April to December’.
In the video, a voiceover is heard saying: “Although you mortals have been away, the ghosts of the Haunted Mansion haven’t gone anywhere.

“Our ghouls have done some gardening you’ll see, including a few new tales of tragedy for our beloved companions, along with some hair-raising new horticulture.
“As you head through the portrait hallway, you may notice some redecorating. The spirits are just dying to show guests their handiwork.
“A few more enhancements may have materialised, so you’ll just have to see for yourself.”
The Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, was set to close for renovations in 2020 before the outbreak of COVID-19 and closure of all Disney parks.
Disneyland reopening soon

The restoration began after the removal of the Nightmare Before Christmas holiday overlay, with the dark ride originally scheduled to reopen in late March or April.
Disneyland Resort is finally reopening its theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, on April 30 after being closed for more than one year.
Disneyland will implement significantly reduced capacity and manage attendance via a reservation system. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is reopening on April 29, while Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian reopen on May 2.
Meanwhile, Disneyland is potentially adding a section inspired by Black Panther’s Wakanda, as part of its expansion plans under ‘DisneylandForward‘.
