Walt Disney World confirmed that face masks are optional in outdoor areas but still required in all indoor locations, including attractions and theatres.
“Face coverings are required for all guests and cast members,” said Disney. “Please bring your own face coverings and wear them in all indoor locations, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and maintaining appropriate physical distancing.
“Face coverings are optional in outdoor common areas at Walt Disney World Resort, but are still required upon entering and throughout all attractions, theaters and transportation.”
SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove visitors will not have to wear masks if they have been fully vaccinated. However, the parks will not require proof of vaccine.
Disney World updates face covering guidelines
“Based on the recently announced guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control, we are modifying our policy regarding face coverings at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove,” said SeaWorld.
“Face coverings will no longer be required for guests at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove who are fully vaccinated in accordance with CDC guidance. We will not require proof of vaccine, but ask our guests to respectfully comply with our revised policy.”
Similar to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando guests no longer have to wear masks outdoors, but they are required to wear them indoors.
“Based on guidance from local government and health officials, effective Saturday, May 15, face coverings for guests are no longer mandatory when outdoors at Universal Orlando,” said Universal.
Legoland Florida relaxes use of masks outdoors
Legoland Florida visitors must wear face coverings in indoor locations and on rides. “While at our resort, we recommend and encourage guests to bring and wear masks for everyone’s safety,” said Legoland Florida.
Outside of Florida, SeaWorld San Antonio and Busch Gardens Williamsburg no longer require face coverings for fully vaccinated guests. Face masks are still necessary at Disneyland Resort and SeaWorld San Diego.
Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando have also started relaxing COVID-19 policies such as temperature checks and social distancing.
