BoldMove Nation, the new vendor-independent service for the entertainment market, has announced a new motion, media-based attraction that combines physical movements with virtual reality capabilities.
WaterSlider VR is provides a life raft experience that can seat up to four guests and one wheelchair, accessible from the rear. The life raft is integrated into a sea container that harbours cabling and technical components, as well as a comprehensive light and sound system.
WaterSlider VR is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments and complies with all safety requirements.
Deep Sea Party is a themed WaterSlider VR attraction provided within a tropical beach party setting. Provided with suitable music, it is designed to be an ideal installation for families and friends visiting water, amusement and holiday parks.
Words from the captain
Through their VR goggles, guests can enjoy a virtual ride into the depths, all whilst still on dry land. The three-minute experience allows both the young and old will discover the hidden secrets of the deep ocean including sunken cities and stone creatures. The underwater adventure uses sound and light technologies to attract nearby audiences, who can watch guests enjoying their Deep Sea Party experience.
CEO & captain of creative minds at Boldmove, Benoit Cornet says “From my sailing experience I can say that a life raft is not something you would like to use, although it will be crucial for survival in case of emergency. The WaterSlider VR however is safely boarded onshore and equipped with fun games and music instead of flares and whistles. The guests who are washed ashore can celebrate at the border of the ocean with tropical beach party vibes.”
Teamwork makes the attraction work
BoldMove is utilising existing technologies to create a completely new attraction that it says offers a “sensational thrill and virtual experience”. Its creative team has developed the overall concept and theming, partnering with Polymorph and Triotech to merge the key components together. The result is a perfectly synchronised attraction, emphasising the power of combined expertise.
WaterSlider VR can be integrated into suitable configurations for leisure venues – customising the experience to combine numerous rafts, add a queue line, create a preshow, or adjust the theming. An optional photo booth can also be installed utilising themed digital frames and providing the benefit of additional social media promotion.
“Creative integration”
Cornet concludes his thoughts on WaterSlider VR by saying “This new attraction carries the typical BoldMove signature; a creative integration of advanced yet proven technologies for a fun and thrilling experience. Our rides and attractions have a compact footprint and can be easily installed and operated. This is reflected in the interactive Smash & Reload double-action dark rides, offering fun gameplay with high throughput.
“WaterSlider VR also perfectly integrates or combines with our AR Hybrid Quest, an indoor or outdoor adventure trail on mobile devices which unlocks virtual portals and worlds.”
Last year, Boldmove announced the success of its Smash & Reload dark ride concept, a family attraction with rotating vehicles and an integrated target scoring system.
