Universal Orlando Resort is opening its first-ever escape rooms at Universal CityWalk in fall 2022, offering Jurassic World and Back to the Future experiences.
Universal’s Great Movie Escape will feature two “next-level escape rooms that pack the innovative storytelling and theming the destination is known for into ‘can’t-miss’ experiences”, according to a news release.
The new escape rooms are inspired by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s blockbuster films Jurassic World and Back to the Future.
Conceived and designed by the same creatives behind Halloween Horror Nights, Universal’s Great Movie Escape will boast interactive and state-of-the-art missions with detailed sets.
Visitors will enjoy “the dinosaur adventures of Jurassic World or the time-traveling chaos of Back to the Future as they solve their way through a multi-sensory experience like no other”, Universal Orlando said.

Back to the Future also features in the latest edition of Universal Orlando’s Summer Tribute Store, with visitors experiencing a recreation of Doc’s gadget-filled garage.
Meanwhile, guests will come face to face with the menacing and murderous Michael Myers from John Carpenter’s 1978 slasher film during this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
In more escape room news, Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Egan Escape Productions have announced a new It-themed escape room experience for Las Vegas.
“Having the opportunity to work with one of the most iconic and terrifying characters of all time has been a phenomenal venture,” said Jason Egan, owner of Egan Escape Productions.
Universal’s Great Movie Escape will open later this year, with tickets going on sale in the coming months.
