Topgolf Glasgow in Rutherglen will offer three floors of interactive games.

Topgolf has announced an opening date for Topgolf Glasgow, the technology-enabled sports and entertainment company’s first venue in Scotland.

Launching on 16 December, Topgolf Glasgow in Rutherglen will be home to three floors of interactive games. These include the company’s signature game for all skill levels, the Angry Birds game, and several virtual courses.

Topgolf Glasgow will also feature 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays, as well as a full bar and kitchen. The state-of-the-art attraction is powered by Toptracer technology.

Technology-enabled golf experience

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the energy of the city in the run-up to opening the doors of our first Scottish venue,” said Simon Green, director of operations for Topgolf Glasgow.

“Those familiar with Topgolf already will recognise many hallmarks of what makes a night out here so special, including the unique games, delicious food, and party atmosphere.

“With our new technology in place, we really can’t wait to show Scotland what we’re all about and welcome everyone of all ages from across the country to join us.”

Topgolf has more than 80 locations across the globe – in the US, UK, UAE, Australia, Germany and Thailand. Topgolf Glasgow is the brand’s fourth venue in the UK.

“The UK holds a special place in our hearts as it’s where our Topgolf story began. It seems very apt that the next leg of our journey takes us to Scotland, the original home of golf,” said Topgolf’s VP of international, Steve Lane.

Topgolf has also revealed plans to open a new facility in Massachusetts’ Greater Boston area in late 2023. TOCA Football, dubbed the Topgolf of soccer, has announced a partnership with Major League Soccer.

Puttshack, from Topgolf founders Steve and Dave Jolliffe, has launched its fourth US venue in Miami.
